Problem: Grain unloading terminals in the Midwest are generally very hard on their equipment because of the short-run season. They cannot afford downtime due to maintenance issues. In this issue, the customer was using our competitor’s wing pulley, and they were lasting 2 years before having to be replaced. By the second year, the wings were getting so worn they were concerned with catastrophic failures during the season.

Solution: We were brought in to solve an issue with abrasion. Luff engineered and built AR400 wing pulleys for the highly abrasive material conveyance. They were installed in December of 2012, and to date are still running! More than doubling the life and reducing the maintenance was a huge win for our customer!
